For those of you out there wondering the release of DS-10 other than Japan, well, here’s a good news. YES, we will release DS-10 worlwide and currently we’re making an adjustment with each territory.   20. This is a great idea. I can’t wait to see it come out.

    My only concern is the lack of actual keyboard/midi connection support.

    Nintendo DS is fully capable of having an port through it’s GBA expansion slot. I know it will add a manufacturing cost. But since you are building a fully capable synthesizer, why not go all out and have something like included? I am sure you can do a USB port expansion that will also help users to save the edits directly to their computer.

    This looks really great. And sounds great too… Only I would realy prefere to have a hardware midi connection…. perhaps it will work with a natrium42 dserial adapter, that is modified to midi in and out? I would realy like to use this with my gameboy’s running LSDJ and nano-loop/voice…. (probeply those nintendodo’s where smoking some nintendope when developing the nintendo ds and forgot about the gameboy’s serial port) Also I don’t like to carry arround my “gigantic” laptop for my mini-gig’s just to have dswifimidi running… since i would prefere my old trusty atari st for sequencing…. it would be a great thing as it comes with some kind of midi adapter….. Also I think that when it is used to perform live on stage, there could be a lot of interference, electrostatics and so on…. I think midicables would make a more relyable and compatible connection… And in a live situation you would still have to have a audio connection to your mixing console/PA.. so it will never be totaly wireless, so why not add some more midi wires…. and have at least midisync, start, pause and stop by midi….
    Looking forward to having one of those…. With or without midi…
    And perhaps for the future ds-100 take a look at he vintage roland cmu-800r that hooks up to a apple II or commodore 64…. Would be great to have a roland or korg module sequenced by a nintendo ds….. perhaps as a 30th aniversary of the cmu??? haha

  30. now I really want to use some midi with this and it seems that I can get a hold on a batch of midi interfaces for the nintendo ds, those fit in slot 2—– only I do not know if this will work with the DS-10 card….there only has to be enough interest to have a batch produced…. those midi devices should work with kaossds, nitrotracker,dstar sequencer, keyboard ds and some more hemebrew software for the nintendo ds….. And if the developer of the ds-10 software wants to make a realy nice music system it should be compatible with this slot 2 midi device too!!! next to that there will also be a batch of midi interfaces made for the gameboy to use with LSDJ, Nanoloop 1.3 / 2.2 and nanovoice……It is fully midi compatible with lsdj, so you can play notes through midi from for instance the nitrotrotracker that runs from a DS, also you could use kaosds for pitch bend, effects, filters and so on… Next to that it midisyncs to the nanoloop/nanovoice programs, I believe with midi start and stop…
    Now I do not know on what kind of card the korg ds-10 comes, I hope a slot 1 card…and else we have to make it slot 1…. Remember that those are all homebrew applications and that they have nothing to do with nintendo, I think for nintendo it is even a nintendon’t, since you will loose your warranty….. Now there is also something else called a wifi to midi adapter from M-audio and some more expensive producers, I am interested if this works with a Nintendo Ds??? did anybody try this??? I think it could be an option not the solution… The solution for me would be if this software comes or has an option for a Midi-Card….. i would like to ask AQ interactive If they are interested in adding midi, only i did not find any e-mail adress of their company…..perhaps we could see if the ds midi card could work with the ds-10 software…..Also I would like to know if more musicians have this desire for midi…..You could also post your desire here and perhaps after a big demand they will see the need for it…..

    well I hope the Korg DS 10 will be released in Europe, too.

    Just my idea about a feature to add in the future: Since many DS games use microphone to control things, wouldn’t it be possible to inegrate it as some sort of breah control for the synth????

    Anyway, great product, hope it comes to Germany!
